Hello everyone! Today was a special day as we ran a 5K to raise awareness for child and youth recreation. Our goal was to show and inform others of how important play and recreation is to a child's development and overall health. The OSEG Foundation has many programs that are focused on recreation and team work, programs such as “Girls On The Run” and “Redblacks Youth Mentorship Program”. We are going to get more people involved in this movement, and inform our community of our goals and vision. We are also working on a charity soccer match, which will also include a raffle for a classic soccer jersey! DO YOU WANT TO HELP? Run the 5K, take a photo and post it on your social media with the @osegfoundation. You can also donate through our gofundme or contact us through the website. THANK YOU AND STAY TUNED!

Today we had the pleasure of meeting over a zoom call with a key member of the OSEG Foundation family, Nancy Crump the senior manager and development and donor communications. This meeting gave us a great insight on what the OSEG Foundation represents, and what they hope to do in the future, as well as what we can do with them. Nancy spoke off great programs in which they generate donations and promote youth community involvement through sport within OSEG Foundation and the city of Ottawa such as 50/50 ticket sales, Girls on the Run programs, Redblacks woman training camp, Redblacks youth mentorship programs, 67s coaching clinics. All great ways of giving back to the community through sport and youth involvement, it was great to see how excited Nancy was for the future even with Covid Continuing to be an issue.

THIS IS US! Below are words that describe what we stand for and what The OSEG Foundation stands for as well. It is based around our community and what is important to our future, and it gives us an idea what needs to be developed. Algonquin College is proud to partner with The OSEG Foundation to create a better environment for our youth and give them the opportunity to break barriers.
